The Villa at Patagonia melds environmental stewardship with fine architecture. Resource-conserving construction and green building practices were a part of our vision from the start. We believe that in making the following ‘green’ considerations we’ve not only brought to light that The Villa at Patagonia is a stand-out architecturally, but also that it’s beauty is more than just skin-deep!

You’ll be interested in our efforts to save you money, energy and the Earth. A massive exterior masonry wall utilizes passive solar heat gain during the day and release a gentle warmth during the night. Abundant overhangs, porches, trees, stunning water features and aesthetic landscaping provide both summer cooling and visual relaxation.

Thick 12″ ceiling insulation with a R-value of R-38 helps reduce energy costs. High-efficiency air conditioner & Honeywell air purifiers. Anderson windows and doors with dual-pane low-e glass. Intelligent lighting and window systems are controllable from anywhere in the world.

Energy Star appliances include the stainless steel refrigerator, washing machine and dishwasher. Environmentally friendly, the Takagi tank-less water heater and the Pelican water softener save water and energy. And the efficient Kohler toilets have the EPA’s “WaterSense” certification.

Operable Anderson windows throughout allow fresh air to circulate, reducing heating and cooling needs. Natural stone surfaces, granite countertops, travertine walls, fireplaces, and accents; polished limestone floors and organic natural materials were used whenever possible in our exhaustive efforts to reduces the use of synthetic building materials, some of which are known for off-gassing harmful toxins.

Additional environmentally-friendly green construction considerations provide a healthy environment for you and your family. We use modern Dunn-Edwards paints that contain no ethylene glycols that are known as toxic contaminates. Also, all interior paints far exceed the standards established by the EPA for emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), so you can breathe easy!
